Pro-ACT® Recertification
Pro-ACT® Recertification is for those In-service Instructors who have maintained their certification for three consecutive years based on the guidelines in Appendix B of both of the Pro-ACT® In-service Instructor's manuals. The length of the recertification is shorter than the original course:
Basic Course Recertification is 2 days
Basic Course + Restraint Recertification is 2½ days
Recertification Objectives
The Pro-ACT® recertification process is designed to provide:
- Support for currently certified Pro-ACT® In-service Instructors
- Clarification of Pro-ACT® principles and application of principles
- Competence building for currently certified Pro-ACT® In-service Instructors
- Sharing of teaching strategies with others currently teaching the material
- Feedback to the authors of the Pro-ACT® material for consideration during rewrites and updates
- Assurance for organizations using Pro-ACT® and for licensing bodies of a Pro-ACT, Inc. commitment to excellence through on-going skill building opportunities
Pro-ACT® recertification workshops are designed to provide both a training experience and an opportunity for refreshment and support from colleagues and Pro-ACT, Inc. Trainers.
In-service Instructors will have the opportunity to both give and receive feedback enabling each participant to refine her/his skills and broaden her/his understanding of the basic principles underlying the course. In addition, recertification creates an opportunity to receive assistance from other In-service Instructors and Pro-ACT, Inc. Trainers with challenges encountered during Pro-ACT® in-service instruction.
